Newspaper shoot: City directory (9 April 2008)

The other day, Editor Terry asked me to get a few shots around town for this year’s city directory; one specific request he had was for a shot of the interior of the Common Grill, Chelsea’s fancy-pants restaurant. With its murals of local sights framed by the building’s original brick walls, it’s not difficult to come up with pleasant pictures of the Common Grill; the above was my favorite of the bunch.

Newspaper shoot: spring cleaning (6 April 2008)

The newspaper wanted a few shots of people cleaning up their yards, and my neighbor was unfortunate enough to be doing just that when I drove by. But she put up with it well, and I got a picture I like.

Last Sunday afternoon I went to the library to photograph the latest installment of the Music at McKune concert series; this particular show featured local folk singer Matt Watroba.

Belle Petit, a six-year-old with neurofibromatosis, smiles for the camera. I photographed Belle and her parents last week for an article that ran in this week’s Chelsea Standard and Dexter Leader.
