Hey, that’s a fun idea. I need to figure out how to do that with an SLR.
No, one nice feature of Dexter’s home ice (which happens to be in Ann Arbor) is the presence of a photo deck above the benches. I use it only part of the time, since the eye-level view is also really nice to have, but the deck does provide some worthwhile shots (and benefits like not having to shoot through the scuffed glass). Action shots, too, not just crazy shots like this — the sad goalie shot was from the deck, too.
It also lets me hear what they say on the Dexter bench. I’m not really sure that’s a benefit, though.
