Yeah, that wasn’t a typo. It was 85-26. The thing about Michigan high school basketball playoffs is that everyone gets in. And I mean everyone. Erie Mason finished the regular season 2-18, but thanks to the all-inclusiveness of the playoffs, they still made it. And not only that, but thanks to the random draws in the districts, they got a first-round bye, while Chelsea played a first-round game. (They easily defeated Milan.)
Why don’t they just rename the entire regular season “pre-season” and be done with it?
I wondered the same thing. I guess they want to give all those losing teams the opportunity to be humiliated by good teams.
