Recovering a fumble is EXCITING.

football20140828-257

Apparently it’s so exciting it makes you want to eat the football!

football20140828-267

DON’T EAT FOOTBALLS.

That fumble recovery turned into Chelsea’s first points of the 2014 season.

With the game tied at 35 with four seconds to go, Northview lined up for a field goal. The Bulldogs were nervous…

…until Northview missed the field goal. Then they were excited.

Both teams scored touchdowns in the first overtime. Chelsea went first in the second OT and scored another touchdown:

Northview also found its way into the end zone in the second overtime, but the coach decided to go for two to end the game. The quarterback rolled to his left and lofted a pass to the back corner of the end zone, and…well, I think you can guess the result from this photo:

After having trailed most of the game — the Bulldogs didn’t tie the score until the fourth quarter, and their first lead came in the second overtime — Chelsea walked away with a remarkable 49-48 win.
