On a beautiful fall evening, Chelsea welcome Ypsilanti to town for game 4 of the 2014 season. There were some special guests in town for this game:
Those are members of Chelsea’s 1959 football team! They were recognized during the game:
Also in attendance were Chelsea’s seventh- and eighth-grade football players. They were on the sidelines for pregame warmups as part of Future Bulldog Night.
It won’t be long before we’re seeing those players on the field on Friday nights.
Okay, back to the usual Friday night events.
Chelsea band director Rick Catherman was recognized with a teacher appreciation award:
Chelsea trailed Ypsi 13-0 at the half.
Chelsea found a spark in the second half and got back into the game.
Trailing by six with a couple minutes left, the Chelsea defense forced an Ypsi punt to give the offense one more chance.
A couple plays later, the Bulldogs were within striking distance…
…but an Ypsilanti interception put an end to the threat, and Chelsea suffered its first loss of the season.
The Chelsea Bulldogs next play at Adrian. The game will be on Friday at 7pm.
