Sgt. Wolverine, saw your comment over on mgoblog about your photography career (in relation to shooting sports). Not sure it helps, but I always figure it’s nice to get connections in the industry. I read a travel blog called Flying With Fish (flyingwithfish.blogspot.com), run by a photog who travels all over the place. Also posts on flyertalk.com as sefrischling. Just thought you might be interested.

Gouda – could you reprint that comment here, for the benefit of those of us who do not read all of the comments on mgoblog?

andrew — Thank you! Those connections are always good to have.

js — the comment was in response to a commenter who asked if I go to M games to work or just to watch; I said:

“…when I go to Michigan games, I’m there as a spectator only. Right now my only media affiliation (and it’s a pretty loose freelance affiliation) is with a small newspaper in a small town, and when it comes to sports, the only place that gets me is high school sporting events. I think I would pretty much die of happiness if I got to shoot a Michigan football game from the sidelines, but that would require a major miracle, or a massive boost to my fledgling career (which I don’t necessarily need right now, as I actually enjoy shooting local sports).”

So I’ve lived your dream, twice. Although I was confined to the southwest corner the whole time.
