To southeastern Michigan’s many winter-weary residents, Sunday’s warm weather was cause for celebration. Two days later, winter decided it wasn’t quite finished with the Mitten. The combination of winter and spring was too good not to photograph.

In the second round of the playoffs, Chelsea hockey faced its other old friend — “friend” — Lumen Christi.
While Chelsea was celebrating another playoff victory, this was the scene on the other end of the ice:

As part of the Michigan Public High School Hockey Showcase — a week-long event that brings to town more than 50 high school hockey teams from all over the state — Chelsea faced St. Clair Shores United.
A little incident with the boards a couple weeks back put one of Chelsea’s captains on the bench with an injury:
Here’s hoping we get to see him back on the ice this season.

Chelsea’s bench obstructed my view of a goal celebration, but the face in this photo made it good enough to post even with the arm in the way:
Chelsea came back from a two-goal deficit to tie the game, but Dexter managed to come away with a 3-2 victory.
