Photo of the Sports Now: 2 December 2010

I know I’m stepping back in time a couple months with this post, but I realized I never posted one of my favorite photos from this winter sports season.  This particular photo is from a basketball game at Milan.

Most people were focused on the game, but as her attire shows, this particular little girl — the younger sister of a Milan basketball player — was there for the cheerleaders.  At every timeout she would find her way onto the court, dancing and enthusiastically waving her pompoms.  But each time she noticed the Milan varsity cheerleaders making their way onto the court, she would stop dancing to watch the cheerleaders’ routines.

Chelsea basketball hosted its annual Holiday Tournament, featuring Pinckney, Redford Thurston and Adrian.  On the first day of the two-day tournament, the Chelsea boys and girls both faced Redford Thurston.

The Chelsea boys basketball team kept an eye on the girls’ game as they prepared for their own game.

Last week, Chelsea hockey lost in overtime in its first of two meetings with its other not-so-beloved rival, Jackson Lumen Christi.

See how Anthony’s right arm is in the process of wrapping around the LC player’s head?  If you’re guessing that didn’t end well, the next photo will show you just how right you are.

As with Dexter, when I say not-so-beloved, I mean it.  I really, really mean it.

For this image, Brad wins this post’s title of Gravity’s Little Helper.  (Or, more appropriately in this case, Gravity’s Little Hepler.)

Remember Steve, the player who left in the ice in pain a few posts ago?  He’s back, and he’s okay.
