For the second consecutive week, the Thursday evening forecast was a bit less than ideal. However, that didn’t stop people from coming to downtown Chelsea to enjoy an evening in town!
The possibility of rain compelled the library to move its comedy show inside.
The rest of Sounds & Sights remained outside. Cash is King, a Johnny Cash tribute band, played on South Street.
As always, the kids were enjoying the music.
Ian Stewart was in the alley.
Escaping Pavement was on Middle Street.
This little one was thoroughly enjoying the music!
When I walked past the Sylvan Courtyard, Corndaddy was taking a break, so I have no pictures of them. Maybe next time!
The chalk art cube was busy.
The kids in the above photos were answering the question posed on the cube: “If you could be a superhero, what would be your superpower?” There was a wide variety of answers — talking to animals, make art come alive, teleportation, flying, hulk strength — but one stood out from the crowd:
“Make siblings listen to me.”
If only!
While kids were wishing for superpowers, the Bob Skon Trio was at the Glazier Building.
The Glazier Building is right next to the railroad tracks. A train rolled through town in the middle of one of the Bob Skon Trio’s songs.
Los Dingos Del Norte was at the clocktower gazebo.
While I was with Los Dingos Del Norte — with about 20 minutes left in S&S — a very large, very dark, and very angry-looking cloud approached swiftly from the west. Before long, Sounds & Sights was all wet.
Last Thursday’s fun may have ended with rain, but the good news is there’s another Thursday this week! Come on out to downtown Chelsea from 6:30-8:30 this Thursday evening for more fun.
